When to call the pediatrician or family physician.
If you are or a loved one is:
Drastically changing behaviors and routine (sleep patterns, appetite, school attendance/performance)
Feeling hopeless, anxious, or overly sensitive
The pediatrician/family physician will be able to advise if the adolescent should seek inpatient or outpatient treatment.
When to Call Your Insurance Company
If you or a loved one is:
Unable to get out of bed
Not performing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) like showering, dressing, hygiene, eating/preparing food, interacting with family
Unable to go to school/feels unable to face the world
Call your insurance company, they can help recommend what type of treatment you need, and which facility is covered by your insurance plan. Have your insurance card(s) and social security number when you call.
