Addiction – Outpatient Treatment
Learn More Outpatient Treatment
If your loved one needs help managing their addiction illness but is not at the level requiring detox or inpatient (sometimes also called residential) treatment, Outpatient treatment might be suggested.
Outpatient treatment can consist of several ‘levels’ of treatment, depending on the severity of the illness.
Outpatient Treatment Levels:
- Partial Hospitalization: Generally Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, or full day treatment
- Intensive Outpatient: Generally three days/week, from 3-6 hours a day
- In addition to outpatient treatment, many patients and their families find that reaching out and participating in support groups has been a tremendous help to their recovery.
To find outpatient providers in your area, first, try your state or county’s Human Services Department. In NJ, here is a list of all addiction providers by county.
