Shining Brightly for its 100th Year, Carrier Clinic® Solar Farm Becomes Operational
Carrier Clinic®, an NJ psychiatric hospital and recovery center, is pleased to announce the recent completion and operation of its nearly 14 acre Solar Farm located on its campus in Belle Mead, just in time to celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2010. The ground-mount fixed tilt display was completed in late December, and has already started producing electricity to the facility. The project was designed to provide 50% of Carrier Clinic’s electrical needs under a 25 year Power Purchase agreement with enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company.
The largest ground mount solar array on a New Jersey Healthcare System campus, the project is owned, operated and will be maintained by enXco. “Belle Mead Solar Project marks the completion of enXco’s fifth solar energy development in New Jersey during 2009. Our commitment to help NJ businesses lower their energy cost is steadfast as we look forward to partnering with other New Jersey-based businesses in 2010,” said Peter Soloman, director of distributed solar for enXco.
C. Richard Sarle, President and CEO of Carrier Clinic commented, “We truly enjoyed working with enXco to make this solar array possible, as we would not have been able to accomplish this without them. It is extremely exciting to move forward into our 100th year with this unique combination of rich history and modern technology to power our campus and propel us through the next 100 years.”
In addition to the new Solar Farm, Carrier Clinic will also be unveiling a new logo and website in May and hosting several community and professional events, including a Fundraising Gala on October 30, 2010, to celebrate its 100th Anniversary.
