Policy forum panel: ‘Decriminalize marijuana’ Middlesex drug council inspires legalization dialogue
Carrier Clinic® Chief Medical Officer David Buch, MD, participates in a panel discussion at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Middlesex County’s 2014 Public Policy Forum. The main focus was the question of whether or not to legalize and/or decriminalize marijuana. Some of the points discussed include: the labeling of marijuana as a gateway drug and it’s safeness if the user does not move on to harder drugs, the medical benefits of marijuana, the difference between legalization and decriminalization, and the economic impacts legalization could bring. While the opinions varied on these topics, the panelists agreed that the conversation should not end here.
